Everytime I try to save a file on my hard drive, I get the error message: "The specified location is reserved by the operating system and is not permitted. Please choose a different location." I then choose a different location, and I continue to get the same error message. Does anyone know what this is, and how to solve it? I was albe to bypass it once by restarting my computer. I'll try doing it again...but this is not productive, and will cost me in the long run.
Thanks,
Mel

Are you logged into the machine with Administrator permissions? Not doing that can cause this to happen. So can trying to write to another user's file spaces...

Possibly. But it's also possible for it to be 'your' computer and still not have Admin rights for you as a user. All depends upon how it was set up originally. What happens if you try to create a new user?

If File name is too long then you will get this error. You need to keep title shorter and if you still face this issue then enter random title like "dcvjdks"

If the file name is too long, then you get an error stating that, so that's unlikely to be the cause. There is a file name length limit in Windows, and that's 256 characters. This doesn't actually include the path to the file name, but if that is also a long one, then this is effectively added to what can be displayed in its full form - and it's the file name that gets 'shortened' first.
But this isn't the issue here. The error message clearly states that this is an attempt to write to a space reserved by the OS - nothing to do with the file name length.

I had the same problem and my issue was that I had a period in the name. I took out the period and it worked fine.

I had the exact same problem with downloading Britney Spears' ...Baby One More Time. I took out the dots/periods at the beginning and it downloaded normally.

This fixed it for me. Thank you very much!
