I have been trying to get consistent audio levels. I am referring to music (only) and not videos or podcasts just music ripped from audio CDs. I have tried all the difference settings in 'Match Volume' and although most of the volume levels are quite consistent you still get the quiet or loud songs between the good ones. What I'm doing now is normalizing all the songs down to -3db in Waveform and before burning them to CD I listen to them in CD Layout and use my ears to work out if the volumes are similar and if not I go to Effects>Amplitude and Compression>Amplilfy and start with adding +1db to the quiet songs and -1db to the louder songs until they are relatively the same playback volume.
Is there another way to go about this or is this as good as it gets? Thanks in advance for any helpful suggestions and information.

I've always found that using your ears beats all forms of automated loudness guesswork, personally!
