Help me resolve horrible jumping in timeline

I'm recording a long voiceover. I"m do it in multitrack mode. If I start recording, read some phrase, then press stop positions stopping right in that time, where I stop it. And if I press the record button again, the recording continues from this position. It is ok. But if I manually return to some previous point, for example, to reread one unsuccessful phrase, when after recording press stop, time position jumps to start of all track, to 0:00:00! So, to continue recording, I need first manually set the position to the last track in the timeline, and only after it I can continue my recording! It's horrible! How can I force the position indicator ALWAYS stay where I stop my recording so it doesn't jump to the beginning of the track every time?
