How do I ensure consistency between files?

Howdy Wizards

Editing an audiobook for the first time.  It's been a long road, still climbing the learning curve.

I THINK I have produced good clean files, all RMS and Peak Levels are consistent -- but the client still has problems -- says that they are uneven and sound quality changes within chapters, and between chapters.

I do see a few places where I may have goosed the audio a bit too much.  One chapter was distorted in places, so I went back to my original session output, and re-edited it (removing mouth noises, applied adaptive noise reduction, a bit of eq to brighten it, then ran it through the same loudness processes (Total RMS, then Peak Level).  I think the distortion was a result of my fiddling with eq, somehow set it too high in a few cases... but I have tried to keep it uniform.   I THINK it is fine.... but client disagrees, and the client is always right.  Right?

Now, I am searching for a way to process all these files in a uniform way so the levels etc. are all the same (a big Audible requirement).

Is there a batch process that can even all 52 files out, or some other tool that I can apply to all of my files?  Or am I the tool?

Any help?

Thanks VERY much.
