How to duplicate/copy a Multitrack session?

I'm new to working with Audition and I'm wondering how I can create a copy of a multitrack session.

I want to create variations of the session but don't want to destroy it each time.

In Premiere Pro and After effects , it's quite obvious on how to do this but I'm completely mystified on how to do this in Audition.

Thanks for your assistance.

J.

Just do a Save As from the File menu under a different name.

And yet it's not that simple.
"save as" just overwrote my previous session and just renamed it.

Maybe it generated a new file in the source folder, and if so, that's not my intent, I'm looking to Copy/Paste or Duplicate a second session of the same type (like OP said) within Adobe Audition. Maybe I'm missing something. (Adobe Audition CC 2017)

The only way I've found is to create a new sesx in Audition, name it and then copy and paste the audio from sesx I want to adapt, otherwise, as you've said, you end up with a whole new session without the last sessions to refer to.

Bit of a pain when you should be able to right click and duplicate...

I discovered this by trial and error!

Get out of Audtion altogether. Find your session file on your computer; most likely it's "[File Name] Session 1.sesx".  Duplicate THAT file and rename it (i.e. "[File Name] Session 2.sesx").

Now go back into your master Adobe Audition file – you can do so by double-clicking on your "Session 1" file. Then import the new session.

You will now have both sessions in the same file (i.e. "Session 1" and "Session 2"). You'll be able to edit each session separately and switch back and forth between them.
