I have been exporting short clips from Descript transcript to Adobe Audition, but when I open them in Audition THERE IS NO AUDIO. Its bizarre, because the transcript plays as usual within Descript, but is silen t in Audition. Is there some setting that I erroneously set that has caused this? Help would be much appreciated, since this is for a podcast episode that is now way behind, and we count on donations, sponsors etc, and we're running out of money.
THANKS
Rob

Are you getting Descript to create the sesx?
Or are you just dragging audio clips onto the timeline?
Either way, make sure your routing is to an appropriate audio output

Hi, and thanks
I create a project in Descript, but after I had problems trying to edit there, I returned to editing in Audition, where I set up the sesx file. I transcribe Interviews in Descript, then and export audio to Audition. I keep the Descript transcription document open, and then when I need a phrase, I export it to a folder within my Audition project. From there I import the clip into the project Files bin, then drag into my Audition timeline. That's where I discover the clip is empty, no audio.
I'm also getting a warning that devices attached to the project have changed. I look at the Audio Hardware panel, and cannot figure out the solution. I am not using the Presonus Audio Box USB 96 at the moment; The entire interview is imported directly from Descript and saved in the project folder. I have set the input to "No Default Input," since it is all internal. I have also looked at the Audio Channel Mapping, and cannot make any changes (locked). I wouldnt know what to change even if they were unlocked. I have attached screenshots for Audio Hardware as well as channel mapping
Thanks for any advice!
Rob

It looks like Audition is set to play audio through the headphones
If you wanted to just play that audio clip outside of Audition - can you do that?
Do you get sound?
If so, then that is what you set your hardware in Audition

Hi Steve
I am listening on headphones, so that output is set correctly. I tried external speakers, but just placing the imported clip in the timeline has no audio; flatline. I am not sure what to set my input as, since I am not using the PreSonus Audiobox, but raw .wav files from the recording or audio clips in via Descript. It was a great combination initially -- if I needed a certain passage, I could search for it in Descript, then export that audio and import it into Audition. But suddenly those imported files come up silent. So now I can't use that system, and unsure where the problem is, Descript, Audition, or me. File attached; exorted from Descript (where there IS audio, and imported into Audition, where there is not.
Thanks for any advice.

As I understand it the wav file that you attached was directly exported from Descript - correct?
Well, your issue isn't with Audition as there is no audio contained in the wav file.
I would check your Descript settings

Okay. I have gone back and forth for days with Descript, but will resume the battle. They were flawless until recently.

First question to ask is - what has changed?
Something in your setup or something in Descript?
