Good morning everyone,
I was wondering if it's possible to insert a crossfade of a default length on every cut in a mulit-track sequence? For context, my client likes to work in Descript, so I've been using the feature to chop out ums and ahs before exporting to Audition. This works fairly well but often requires inserting a cross fade on many hudreds of cuts to smooth it out. If there was a way to apply one to each cut, this would save a significant amount of time, though I'm not holding my breath.
Many thanks in advance,
Jack

Audition does add default crossfades on edits...check the prefs for data and clips.
Not sure how these apply for imports from Descript.

Audition will certainly add a default fade at the start and end of two clips, but to achieve an actual crossfade you still have to overlap them. You can test this for yourself by setting the 'Smooth all edit boundaries by crossfading' setting to 500ms, lining up to clips adjacent to each other, and listening to a half second fade out on the first one, and a half second fade in on the second...
This facility is primarily intended for use on cuts and edit boundaries in Waveform view, with the specific intention of getting rid of small clicks - in this view it appears to crossfade, but in Multitrack it doesn't do quite the same thing, so it's slighly misleading labelling, I feel. You may well be able to achieve what you are after, but strictly speaking, they won't be crossfades unless you manually overlap them.

Thank you both for the replies. I'll have a fiddle around with this but - as Steve says - I'm not sure it will do what I need it to in the multitrack sequence.
Many thanks.
