Insert into Multitrack

New Here ,

When I set an IN/OUT on my Waveform and do Insert into Multi-track Session, the track and time placement into the Multi-track are a mystery to me.  It does not seem to pay any attention to where the position bar or track that was selected.  How do I dictate where that clip goes?

Edit>Preferences>Multitrack Clips, and the options you have are there. If you make a time selection from a waveform view file, generally it will be placed at the same time in the session as it is from the start of the file. This can sometimes cause a few issues with .bwf files with an embedded offset start time, and if you have this in your file, then the results could certainly seem random, as the placement would have the time you selected added to the offset time. It's confusing because there's nowhere in the wav standard for actual timecode to be added; it has to be calculated from the offset time and a count from the start of the file.
