Hi everyone
I'm a podcaster and I'm using Audition to edit my interviews. All was going well but in the last week things have gone awry!
Two related but different problems. I do my interviews on Skype and record with e-camm.
In the last week things haven't been working:
1. open an interview in Audition and only one track/channel shows up (me) and not my guest. I sent my audio file to a colleague who opened it in Audition and both tracks showed up and played normally.
2. open another interview in Audition and both tracks show but my audio is only there for first few seconds, then nothing.
Note: I've played these audio files in other programs e.g. QuickTime and Camtasia and both tracks/channels are there and play perfectly.
So I deleted Audition and reinstalled but still the same problem.
Has anyone come across this before and know of a solution?
Fingers crossed someone can help me.
Ciao, NKT55

Which version of Audition and on what platform, Mac or PC?

I'm using a Mac and the issue first came up last week (not sure what version of Audition) but continued when I downloaded the current version (10.0.0.130) over the weekend.

Does e-camm give you two individual mono tracks or left/right in stereo? When you import the tracks into Audition, do you have two tracks (obviously in Multtrack View) or a single stereo track in Waveform view.
Since the recording works in other software and even other installs of Audition, it might be worth checking to see if you somehow modified the default setting from how Audition handles stereo or multitrack recordings. I'd check and experiment with settings under Edit/Preferences/Audio Channel Mapping and also Edit/Preferences/Multitrack.

e-camm shows two tracks, which I think are left/right in stereo, as I've had to 'fix' this to get sound coming out of both speakers.
Previously when I've imported the e-camm audio into Audition it has appeared as two tracks (left and right) although if I want to handle them separately I have to save them to mono files.
I'll have a look at the settings in Audition and see if I can sort this out.
Thanks Ry and Bob.
