Lost all shortcuts and favourites after "upgrading" to latest Audition.

I all.  As stated above, I upgraded and lost the above.  Any ideas, please?

Thank you,

Paul.

this thing also happened to me with a previous update. I have lost all preferences. I have not received a solution to the problem from the community or from Adobe.

I think Adobe should create a backup system (online and offline) of all the custom settings of the various software in the suite. An error such as failure to transfer favorites etc. greatly compromises the work of users. One takes years to customize all the perfect settings for their job, then just an update and you lose EVERYTHING!
I am shocked.

It's actually pretty easy to back up the Preferences folder - on a PC the path to it is

C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Audition\13.0

Normally preferences get transferred to updated versions without any difficulty, but if you upgraded from a 12 release to a 13 one, then by default I don't think they would. But if you go back a step in the above path to 12.0 you should find the previous version still there, and you can selectively replace in the new version whatever it is you need to from the previous one - most of the file names are pretty obvious.

The easy way to navigate to the appropriate folder (by default hidden) is to click on Help>Reveal Log files and go back a step from what is opened - the log files are contained within the current preferences folder. That should work for Macs too.

Sometimes between different version releases there are significant differences in the structure of some of the files in preferences, and consequently it's not possible to do blanket replacements, It's probably the complicating factors of this that preclude a simple transfer mechanism that is universal. Whilst I'm sure that it would be possible to cobble something together, I don't think that Adobe corporate is too keen on developing anything more than what the big ticket users want, as it's them that are paying to keep the company going, not the rest of us.

I know the solution proposed by you, but it is still an operation to be done MANUALLY for each ADOBE application.
AI, PS, ID, AU, PR, AE etc. (which each time must be searched among the folders).
This operation should always be done for safety before an update (but we often forget to do it because it is stressful)

I would ask for a simple menu item in the various MODIFY / SETTINGS / EXPORT (IMPORT) applications.

In past versions this function existed, as there was the synchronization of the settings saved on the adobe cloud, it was enough to log in and reset the settings.

I believe that the automatic and / or manual BACKUP of the settings (keyboard choices, favorites, racks, effects, panels, etc.) is a sacrosanct thing as if unfortunately we lose everything we will find ourselves lost all the work done over time.

mine is a Global request not just for Audition.

Well we're a U2U forum. Not much point in telling us... or by the looks of it, Adobe either. And for all we know, there may be corporate reasons for not wanting this facilty at all - especially in a corporate environment where they want uniform systems. I don't know that - but it's not implausible by any means.
