Is there a way to map bext metadata fields to ID3 fields when doing a batch convert from bwave to mp3? I have over 3,000 unique, individual bwf files I need converted to mp3, but I want the metadata to transfer. I cannot find any info on this at all.

Certainly not that I know of within Audition because the metadata appears in totally different places and schemes in the different file types. No doubt some clever low level software programmer could code something to do it.

Yes. That's why I'm looking for a way to "map" the fields. It seems like an elementary function to include. I've created over 3000 files, some being over 2 gigs (couldn't make them smaller due to being archival masters). Just going back to save these is a chore. Adobe could you please add this function for batch processing? It's a pain to have to input data twice.

I use a third party app for editing metadata but unfortunately it's not free. But it should allow you to open the data in one form and copy it to the other. There is a free 14 day trial available. The Pro edition does have Batch processing which might be able to ease your workload.

Thanks for the recommendation. I have looked at Metadata Touch but it doesn't appear to have mapping functionality. BWF MetaEdit will allow you to export an XML file (so does Metadata Touch), but I'm not sure how I would transfer that information to an mp3 file. I have a lot of files, so that would help a ton. I'll explore that option and post my findings.
