Missing files after session crashed

Hello,

After reading  through forum posts i realise this has happened to a few people, i don't hold out much hope but just wondered if there was a fix for this particular issue yet...

Working on a MacBook Pro running CS 6.

I was working on a multitrack session, highlighted a section of audio that i wanted to export as a new file, this worked and then i had a message saying that Audition had encountered a problem and had to quit. I wasn't unduly fazed as the multitrack had been saved as had the .wav files in the sub folder that Audition makes. When i hit OK for the session to quit i got a really loud burst of digital noise in my headphones which was pretty weird and when i went to open the session again, the .wavs that i had been working on had disappeared. Nowhere on the computer to be seen. The other files in the session are still there where they should be but i'm missing an hours worth of recording. Does anyone have any idea to recover these files? Any help gratefully received

Claire
