Mono clip in a stereo multitrack session is getting converted back to mono on export

I have a Stereo Multitrack session with 3 tracks that should all be playing stereo. When I export the entire session (or just timeline selection), Track 1 is only heard in the left channel, whereas Tracks 2 and 3 are properly heard in both L and R.

What am I doing wrong or is this a bug?

Track 1 is a stereo track that contains edited clips of the left channel only of a stereo source

Track 2 is a stereo track that contains a stereo music track

Track 3 is a stereo track that contains a mono voice-over clip that was recorded in Audition.

When I play the session on the timeline, all three tracks mix to stereo and can be heard in both L and R speakers. Despite the clips on Track 1 being from a stereo source, I have only dragged the left channel from that source onto the timeline. So with no other changes to the track, the clips on Track 1 all play in both the L and R speaker equally.

All three tracks are panned to the center (default). I do have some insert effects on the tracks, but even if I remove them, it still exports the first track to the L channel only.

What am I missing?

Thanks in advance!

Can you post a screen grab of what your session looks like with the emphasis on the Track headers of the first couple of

tracks including a bit of start of the clips so we can see how you have them set up?

Yeah, let me know if there's anything else that would be helpful. As far as I can tell, nothing is paned, and the mono track plays on both the L & R channels of Track1, and is effective in reaching the L&R channels of the Master track. I just can't figure out why the export is getting all messed up!

For reference, this is a section of what gets exported. So strange. I have also tried exporting through Adobe Media Encoder, and same issue.

I found a workaround to at least get me through this project, but that doesn't explain what was going wrong...?

The workaround:

1) Create new mono track

2) Copy all clips and plugins and values from Track 1 to new mono track

3) Export

In this case, session playback matches the exported file.

That's very odd. It all looks as if it should be OK and normally if you can hear it OK via the Master output it should mix down OK as well.

It might be an idea to get our .sesx expert to take a look at your Session file. He is in Oz so may not see these posts for a few hours yet.
