Mono/Stereo VST plug-ins for surround mixing 5.1

Hello! I searched this information for a long time, but I did not find it. Can I use mono and stereo vst plug-ins on 5.1 bus? I want to make my sound warmer. I have stereo and mono sound effects that are sent to the 5.1 bus. But when I add a mono or stereo plug-in for processing, only LR channels are processed or nothing at all.

A lot of CPU resources will be required to add a tape saturator for each individual track. Thanks in advance!

You can, but you can only use them in either mono or stereo. Sort-of makes sense, really...

It's not quite as bad as it seems though - you can determine where the effect is going to end up in the results by altering the routing. But, it will still only be a stereo effect; you can't make more of it than that.

I'd show you a screen grab of it, but for some

I'd show you a screen grab of it, but for some strange reason the forum isn't accepting them at present.

Not necessarily - you can pre-render this on each track, and that will cut back the processing requirements considerably.
