I was doing some dubbing using a Multitrack Sessions Wednesday. When I was done with each person, I saved all the files and sessions properly into the External Hard Drive.
However, when I went to work on the clips, everything I had done was gone. No sessions, no waves, nothing -- As if I didn't even do it. Yet, Audition still had the Sessions in the Recent tab (just no where on the drive).
My other session later in the night is still there, as well as the sessions from the week prior, but not this batch.
Even running a Data Recovery program to deep dive on the HDD turned up nothing.... And there are no Recovery files for these sessions/waves. Again, like I didn't even do the work.
Has this ever occurred to anyone else, or has anything similar happened? Did Audition trash the files? The the HDD?

Audition doesn't trash files or discs - if anything, it does rather the opposite - makes a point of keeping stuff, even when you don't want it to, as with drop-ins. Whilst I have no idea of what's happened to your files, I'm afraid, I'm reasonably sure that the OS will have had a hand in it, as this is what it does...

When you created the Multitrack session was this on the external hard drive?
If so Audition would have been creating a backup every so often so that is very strange.
What version of Audition is it?
PC or Mac?

Win 10 -- Audition CC 2017
Saved to EHDD, saved all files before closing. Shut down laptop before unplugging (it was on site ADR). Each person had a different Multitrack session, and their own folder for recording. All four were empty.
