From my research it does not seem like this is possible. But is it possible to have 2 or more multitracks open at the same time? Similar to the way you can have multiple sequences open in Premiere Pro open at the same time.
You can open as many as you like, but you can only see one at a time in the editor. But it is quick to hop between them, and you can cut and paste between them too.
