need assistance with re-installing Adobe Audition 3.0

I have the serial number but getting message that it is invalid.

Adobe no longer support Audition 3 due to the serial number activation server being discontinued. However they haven't left you in the lurch. Adobe have supplied a free download of Audition 3 that doesn't need activating provided that you use the serial number supplied alongside the download link.
