I have a question and could appreciate some help. I record a podcast with up to 3 blue yeti mics on audition with a dell g5 5587. No issues. I wanted to add a 4th mic as I have done in the past with a dell latitude that had 4 usb ports, this laptop only has 3. So I purchased a powered usb hub and got the error not enough controller resources when I opened audition. Would anyone know if you can use a powered usb hub? It was a 3.0 speed maybe I should downgrade to 2.0 hub? Just wanting to add more inputs.
Thanks

If they are USB mics then all bets are off. USB mics won't usually work being connected via USB hubs I'm afraid. The only proper way to do this is to use an external multi input USB audio interface with 4 (or more) professional XLR mic inputs.

ryclark Thanks so much. So you are saying I might need to go away from the USB mics altogether and just get an audio interface? Would you have an example maybe from amazon?
Thanks!

Yes I am saying that. USB mics are only really designed to be used one at a time. Forcing more than one to work together can cause all sorts of problems as you have now found and also compromises the audio quality.
Unfortunately USB audio interfaces with more than two mic inputs are a bit rarer and tend to cost more. However there is one that I have found on Amazon UK that would do the job for not too much money. Should also be available from your local Amamzon if you aren't in the UK.
