not recording [CS6 will not let me record]

ive got adobe audition CS6, when i open, and want to start recording, it doesnt let me record. how can i fix this?

You need to check that your audio interface is correctly selected and set up in Audition's Preferences/Audio Hardware page. It might help if you could tell us what computer operating system you are running Audition on and what your audio interface is.
