Hi. I almost gave up because i can't handle this problem.
I checked LITERALLY all troubleshooting methods from internet but nothing works.
Mic: Fifine k658 (USB) (but not important because same behaviour i have with integrated mic in laptop)
Laptop: Asus FX707ZV
OS: Windows 11
I always used a MME device type and i know about WASAPI can fix this behaviour, but i can't use it because of worst sound quality and robotic lags on recorded sound.
I tried same mic and same version of Audition on my different win10 laptop and everything is good. So it's a problem in win11 i think

Fiirstly you'll have to tell us what you've tried. Also confirm which version of Audition you are using, and whether you are trying to record in Waveform or Multitrack view. As far as W11 is concerned, it's bloatware - if you want it to work with Audition you have either to have a blindingly fast machine, or go through all the steps to optimise it for audio, and stop all of the unnecessary stuff running.

Hello, thaks for your reply
Here is details
1. Checked sampling rate, tried every value
2. Tried every latency value
3. Reinstalled audiodrivers
4. Disabled every audio devices but mic
5. Switched between Audition versions (CC 2019 - 2025)
7. Tried virtual mixers
8. Waveform and multitrack both gived same trouble
9. Disabled almost all processes in system to free resources
10. Tried use reaper and audacity. With MME there are no troubles
Maybe i forgot something, but i really tried everything i found here, on reddit and in internet in general
My machine it enough powerful and still with low load of hardware while i use Audition. Machine with win10 i checked yesterday a waaay more weaker than my current laptop.

Have you checked that Audition has "permission" to use your mic, whether internal or external? I know this is a particular "feature" of Win 11.

Other than that, you probably only have a 'mechanical' hard disk in your laptop. The absolutely best thing you can do, if this is the case, is to fit a SSD instead. This will absolutely transform any laptop in terms of its performance and is especially worth it with modern OS's. You might need some professional help to transfer everything from one drive to the other, but it's not actually that difficult with the right software.

I have two SSDs in my laptop (system and file storage). And i installed Audition on the both of them. Also i tried to change cache locations. And this is not resolved the problem

Hello, i granted all permissions for apps to use mic. And tried with or without monopoly mode - no result 😞
