Problem with plug ins

New Here ,
Nov 22, 2016 Nov 22, 2016

I run the MAC version of Adobe Audition CS 5.5 on a mid year 2010 issue MacBook Pro with 8 GB ram, running OS X " El Capitan" version 10.11.6 . Audition runs fine, stable with no issues, however there are many effects that exist within the lists of available plug ins that say " Powered by isotope". I am have problems with these. I believe that these plug ins, if you will, came as part of Adobe Audition ??  When, for instance you insert a multi band compressor on a mono track, you can hear it is doing something however realtime indications of things that should be showing status such as gain reduction and bargraph level indicators are not indicating. Same as spectrum display. Also, adjustable parameters such as setting amount of gain reduction via the sliders that should be movable with the mouse will change the parameter, you can hear it...  but again you do not get visual indication on screen that you moved the slider. This appears to be the case with many available plug ins that all say " Powered by isotope".   Plug ins from vendors such as Waves that I own all work proper. Can anybody please give me some direction, ideas that I might try or any suggestions to resolve these issues.
Thank You, Terry K

I am one of very few people (counting you it makes two) that have/had this issue and it (and a couple of other things) has driven me mad.

The good news (but probably not for you) is that since the latest release (or maybe the one before) I no longer have that problem - mind you that 'fix' came with other problems but that's a different story.

So you are saying that a later version than CS5.5 did it for you ?  What version are you running ?

In case that's not clear, every new release is a later version of the same software; the upgrade process is the way you get bugs fixed. Yes, there's inevitably a price penalty, but if you didn't pay anything, then nothing would ever get fixed...

Steve,

I get that.. and have no problem paying as I use this for making $$ and just want something that works properly.  I have no problems upgrading from 5.5 but am curious about " other problems" that Suite Spot mentions.

I must admit that I cant remember if I had these same issues before upgrading to OS-X, El Capitan last year as I did not use it on the Mac much prior to then.   I assume that both of you are on a similar MAC platform as I am running ??  What are you experiences Steve, if you would please.  It is unfortunate that companies such as Adobe are like so many others now days that have eliminated any possibility of speaking to tech support person.

No, Steve and SuiteSpot like many of us veterans on this forum are all Windows users I'm afraid.

The 'other problem' is that once the spectrum display on the Multiband Compressor was fixed any jBridged vsts had no visible GUI.

Mind you I only ever had a problem with a single isotope plugin.

Are the 2 issues related?

My guess is yes and no it is not my video card as I have replaced it and we are on different platforms so there is that and it seems that I am the only one with the jBridge issue as other PCs of mine do not have either problem.

So either live with it, install on another PC or upgrade (or a combination of the latter) would be my advice 😉
