Question about frequency analysis window in Audition CS6

New Here ,
Dec 02, 2017 Dec 02, 2017

Just to be sure, the numbers alongside notes on the guide on the far right of the frequency analysis window are referring to octaves, right? A1 to A6 is a span of five octaves?

Thank you in advance.

Yes - the number you get is the frequency (and note) of the highest harmonic.

And on the "Spectral Pitch Display" screen, are those numbers alongside notes, ranging from 1 to 10, octaves? (A1, C3, D5, etc ....)

Not quite. Remember that you can select to have either Frequency (0-20kHz) or Notes (A-A9) as your right hand scale in the Spectral Pitch display when fully zoomed out.

Yes, But ... the notes you mentioned (A-A9), are the corresponding numbers OCTAVES?

Yes I didn't say that they weren't octaves. But was going by your comment that the scale showed 1-10 was more likely to be Frequency rather than the Notes setting.

I should have put a comma after 'frequency' - they two halves of the sentence don't relate!
