If this thread has already been discussed can somebody please point me in the right direction.
When I play back an audio file I recorded on Multitrack, it plays back a little delayed. As I sing over the beat, I am going with the beat but when I play back it seems as if my vocal track is a little behind. Does anyone know how to fix this? I am using a MacBook Pro with a PreSonus AudioBox USB.
Thanks!

How are you monitoring while you record? Your Presonus features "direct hardware recording" which is the front panel knob labelled "Mixer". This lets you control the balance between your live mic and the playback from your computer.
Now is where I get a bit less sure. On a Windows machine using ASIO drivers, those drivers speak to Audition and work out the necessary delay to keep your tracks in sync. I'm sure that a Mac must have a similar facility in whatever drivers it uses but I can't be as sure of my facts.
However, if by any chance you're not using the mixer control on your Presonus, that'll likely fix you up.

Thanks for you response. I am using the direct hardware recording feature to monitor. All of that works perfectly, no latency. For some reason however, the audio recording seems to be a step behind during playback. I have to move the audio block ahead slightly to get it back in sync with the beat. So it isn't the monitoring that has latency, it's the file being written during recording. Is it my CPU? Is it my audio hardware settings?
