Hello!
I was wondering if it was possible to record both a microphone and the stereo mix from a PC into Audition, in two separate tracks at the same time. I would like to record a conversation for a podcast but the other person will be speaking over Zoom. To save myself the effort of editing the voices together in post, I would love to be able to record both the audio from my computer (stereo mix) and my voice into a microphone at the same time. If this is possible I would love help on this. Thanks!

I'm afraid not. Microsoft, in their infinite wisdom, have decreed that you could not possibly want to do this under any imaginable circumstances. So you have an input selector. End of...
Well, sort of. There is something called Virtual Audio Cable which can be attached to internal sources in your PC and route them elsewhere. I just made that sound easy, although in fact it's anything but - this app is seriously difficult to set up. In theory you ought to be able to do this using just the app and something like ASIO4ALL, which might be necessary to locate the inputs in Audition. I should stress that this is all in theory - I've never succeeded in making it happen.
So, the app isn't free, and it's going to take a lot of setting up. Is it worth it? Sorry, but I don't think so.
