recover session with two days work lost after computer shuts down

My computer shut down in the middle of editing a session. However I had saved it recently in the session folder. Also autosave was turned on.

When I opened the most recent version of it it was missing two days worth of work. It tells me I am missing file assets however when I open it, the older version seems to work fine.

In the adobe recovery file, there is only the version of the session from 2 days ago and then from when I have just now opened it. All the recent recordings and downloaded sound files from the last two day are still in the session folder but are not in the session when I open it.

How can I recover the latest version of the session?

All help very very much appreciated ! Thanks

When the session is created, a backup folder is also created in the same folder as the session. You need to look carefully at the dates and times of the backup files, because Audition is perfectly capable of picking up the incorrect one after a shutdown. No I don't know why, but it's happened to me as well. Usually a careful inspection of the backed-up .sesx files will reveal the correct (latest) one, though. That is, unless for some reason your computer was unable to make any saves before whatever it was closed it down. This is pretty rare, so it's worth investigating carefully before starting over with a new session.
