Can someone advise on a problem I'm having with Audition, the removal of a single click ? I have audition 2105cc and 2017cc,  I'm not able to it get to work.

My experience goes Cool Edit 2000 and all that was necessary, was to highlight the click, and then mouse click the Single click removal button and everything worked OK!  I'm getting a box that says "creating preview sequence" and nothing seems to happen ?

Just to add to Bob's answer. Just to help you drag the Spot Healing Brush in an exactly vertical line hold the Shift key as you drag the brush. This will help you get a straight line rather than a slightly wiggly one that can happen when you try to drag the mouse freehand.

I'm not quite sure what you're doing to get that box--what should pop up is a menu box with lots of things you can control in terms of the click elimination.

However, may I suggest a better way to deal seamlessly with a single click that didn't exist in earlier versions?

In Waveform view, turn on the Spectral Frequency Display (either a box on the menu bar or Shift+D as a shortcut.  Find the click and zoom in nice and tight on it.  Select the "Spot Healing Brush" tool (picture of a bandaid).  Set the pixel width to be just wide enough to cover the click, Click and drag the length of the click on the Spectral Display and, when you let go, the click will be eliminated and the sound filled with the average of what's happening either side of the click.  Usually this gives a completely seamless repair.  FYI this works on a lot of other noises as well--a bumped mic, slamming door, whatever.

I don't think you're hitting the correct thing at all. In all of the CC versions, highlight the click and go to Favourites>Auto Heal. You don't get any dialog boxes - it just heals that selection (as long as it's not too large) and generally works pretty well.

Just to let every know what was the issue, I was highlighting the click with the "time selection tool". in the single click process, what is required is the use of the "Paint selection Tool" when using the "Single Click Removal" under the effects menu. Also the Auto Heal Works well too! It's just it bit more advanced in the way you do things in the more recent versions of Audition compared to Cool Edit 2000.

Roger.
