Selecting any track makes annoying sound

For some reason, whenever I select any track in Audition, and even when I open and close the program, an annoying piano note is played. On the first few tracks (1-8 I believe) the note changes, going up the piano scale from low to mid. Then, for tracks beyond 8, the note stays the same. It's really annoying to try to listen and edit an instrument or vocal while this loud obnoxious note is fading away. Did I turn something on by mistake, maybe a midi tool? Any help would be much appreciated. I can't find anything on the web at all. I'm not even really sure what to search for:) Thanks.

BTW - I'm on a Windows 10 PC and Audition CC is updated. The tone comes through my laptop speakers as well as headphones, so it seams to be global. The tracks are all recorded live into Audition via USB from a Behringer X32 soundboard. This has been going on for a couple months - not just a 1 time thing.
