I purchased a new Shure K32SL microphone and I can't get it to record with Audition. It's there but will not record - and the pre-amp is fine. It is not the microphone as it will record in both Audacity and Garage Band. No problem recording in Audition with my Apogee.
Pretty frustrated. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Theresa

How is the signal getting from the mic into Audition? You mention a pre-amp. Isn't that then plugged into your Apogee interface? Which Apogee interface is it?

My Apogee is a separate USB mic which Audition works with. My Shure Condenser mic uses a Focusrite Clarett pre-amp with Thunderbolt.

I know this is basic, but have you pushed the 48v button on the front of the Clarett?

Ah, that information about the Clarett interface makes a lot of difference to your question. So it is a problem with your Focusrite audio interface not the actual mic that is causing the problem.
If your mic via the Clarett works OK in Audacity and Garage Band then it should work OK in Audition. But you will have to do a bit of detective work with the setting up of the Audio Hardware in Audition's Preferences to get the correct driver working. Audition has many more options available for different audio interfaces than the simpler Audacity and Garage Band which use the basic OS audio drivers.
Do you have the most up to date Focusrite ASIO drivers installed.

You can get up to date Focusrite drivers from Downloads | Focusrite
Once you have the driver installed, go to Edit/Preferences/Audio Hardware in Audition. Select the Device Type that matches your driver (probably ASIO from Focusrite but it might be MME and then select the appropriate driver or hardware.
If you're recording in Multitrack View (probably the best idea for all sorts of reasons including automatic backup and not having to save at the end) you need to go to the input for the track you want to record in (input is the drop down menu marked with a right-facing arror in the Control Panel at the left end of each track) and select mono and the appropriate input from your Clarett.

Yep, and tried changing channels and Thunderbolt input on my Mac.
