Hello over there,
most time working in premiere, today I have an audio project with a dozen vocals and a novox music bed.
In EQ effects I can´t chose a preset, see pic below - does anybody knows what to do?
Reinstall Audition?
Thanks in advance,
Jo
All you need to do is trash the EffectPreset file in Preferences, with Audition closed. When you restart it, a new 'vanilla' file with all the original presets will be re-instated automatically. You haven't said whether this is Windows or Mac - the path to the preference folder in Windows is:
C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Audition\10.0

Although it is sometimes better to rename the settings folder by adding something like .bak onto the end of the name. otherwise you will also trash any custom settings that you may have saved. At least if you rename the folder you can go in and copy back your custom presets (provided they are not corrupted) into Audition's newly created settings folder.

Hi Steve.
I got the same error message. Could you please describe the proces to fix this for MAC users?
Thanks a lot.

The process is the same as described above, but for a Mac you are looking for this path to the folder:
/Users/{username}/Library/Preferences/Adobe/Audition/{version no}/

Hi, I am experiencing this issue. What is the updated path for Audition 23? Running it on an older Mac Montery OS 12.6 and there is no Adobe folder in the path "/Users/{username}/Library/Preferences/..."

I tried downgrading to version 22.6 of Audition and the same problem appears with a simple effect like Broadcast Limiter under Dynamic Processing. This issue makes the software useless. Please fix asap.

Thanks Steve.
I really looked for the EffectPresets, but they are not there, not in my computer. I went through all the presets I have but they belonged to other applications (After Effects, Premiere, etc) Maybe thats the problem: I do not have them and therefor they do not load. What should I do?

The path, by default, is hidden - you have to unhide the folder before you will see the files.

Hi there! I'm facing a similar issue with Adobe Audition 2024, and I can't seem to find the mentioned path in the Creative Cloud package. Could you please provide guidance on how to proceed in this case? Thanks!

If it's a brand new installation and you haven't imported any previous preferences, the easiest way to reset everything is to start Audition with the Shift key held down - that will reset it to a vanilla state.

Dear Steve,
If the path is hidden, could you tell us with more detail how to find it on a MAC and the whole procedure after finding it? I still have this problem, even with the newer version of Adobe Audition.
I will be very thankfull if this works.

The procedure is exactly as described above - nothing about this has changed. As far as unhiding the library folder on a Mac is concerned, all I can do is repeat what I was told by a Mac user (I don't have a Mac):
"On Macs, this is achieved by clicking Go in the Finder menu whilst holding down the Alt/Option key. Library should appear in the list."

Thanks Steve. Now I found the path and trashed the folder without having Audition opened, re-started my MAC and openend Audition.
Nothing changed. 😞
Any other idea?
