Total Newb who can't get mic to work

Hello All,

Audition will not recognize my Rode Podcaster mic. I have checked the settings and the microphone is working properly on my computer (windows 10). I can hear it when I  go into device settings and I Can hear the mic picking up sound via my headphones. But audition will not recognize it and is stating that the mic is not working. I have updated the drives and installed asio4all  no dice.

It should work fine with the ASIO driver, but if you can't even get it to work with the MME driver, then I suspect that you haven't selected it as the input to use - assuming that you are trying to use it in Multitrack view, that is. Typically it would look like this, only you'd be selecting your mic, not stereo mix!

So,you need to set the input specifically to use the mic, and also you have to remember to record-enable the track before anything will happen.

As far as the ASIO driver is concerned, what do you see if you click on the Settings button?
