Track inputs and outputs for bus track

Hey All, 

I'm trying to output dialogue in an audio track to a bus track but I can't select the input and outputs they're greyed out if that makes sense. I can't click on it with my cursor.

No it doesn't make sense, I'm afraid. Can you tell us exactly what steps you've taken? Screen grabs would help...
