Unable to Preview Audio Before Importing - Audition

New Here ,
Jan 18, 2021 Jan 18, 2021

I've tried finding adaquate solutions for this particular feature.
In previews versions of Adobe Audition, you were able to (before importing) preview the file.
This seems to have been deleted as a feature.

Having just switched over to CC - with some hesitance, for workflow sake, I'm in need of this particular function.
Is there a work around, or a setting I may be missing?

It's not deleted, and it still works fine, but you have to use Audition's Media Browser to view your files - there's a player button at the bottom of it.

Thank you for that.
My only issue now is trying to get to network drive.
I can see the designation for my local hard drives - but there doesn't seem to be a way to add a dedicated shortcut to a network drive, for preview.

No, I don't think you can do that, and this appears to be by design. Audition is not too keen on working directly with any online files - as a lot of people have discovered, especially when they try to save directly to one. For reliable results, local working is very much advised.
