Windows Audition version 6 (stand alone) Windows 11 Pro, new machine. I have a CD I am trying to install from. First it tells me it can't find a previous version (this must have been an upgrade) and asks for a serial number to a previous version. I give that, it's accepted and the install begins. It never finishes because it stops on a popup screen that says I must "upgrade my browser and operating system" - since the browser and OS are far more recent, that can't be done. There is no cancel or exit from this screen. The only way to make it go away is to get up Task Manager and kill the process.
I've been using Audition since it was Cool Edit Pro (before Adobe bought it) and really need it on this new machine, or there's no point in having the new machine.
Any suggestions?
