Using MotuM6 in Adobe Audition 2024 W/Windows

Hello!

Hoping for a bit of help. I'm recording a multi-channel podcast through my Motu M6 External Microphone. When connecting to Audition through my Mac. When going to "Audio Hardware" from the audio input, I can click M6 for default input so that on the main track screen I can choose exactly which mic will go to what track.

On my Windows computer, from the "Audio Hardware" screen, it does not show M6 that I can click. It shows motu 1-2 and motu 3-4. It won't allow me to put one mic per track on the main track screen.

Any recommendations? This could be a Motu problem, but I'm wondering if there's something a bit different about Windows 11.

With the PC, you need to use the ASIO driver for the MOTU in the Device Class box in order to access individual inputs. This goes for pretty much all multichannel devices; Microsoft made it prohibitively expensive to get anything but basic stereo drivers approved, and anyway, ASIO bypasses most of the OS so has lower latency. Win-win...

And this applies to all of their OS's, not just W11.
