permissions needed to edit in Bridge & Photoshop

I'm on Windows 11 and all Adobe prodcuts are up to date and Windows.  When I open Bridge or Photoshop and try to do any editing and save or rename I get a "permissions needed" error message.  None of the edits or adjustments to the files save.  This only started 2 weeks ago.   The exact message is  "This file cannot be renamed 'fence'  because you do not have permissions or the file is in use."

Where are your files stored? Do you use cloud services?

My photo images and documents are all in One Drive.  I tried downloading an image onto the C: drive and still had the problems of permissions (when I made edits) when I tried to save it.  In addition, I've had images on the One Drive for 3-4 uears now, and never had this problem before.  It just started 2 1/2 weeks ago.  Very odd.  Appreciate the help!

Adobe doesn't play nice with cloud storage. Best practice is to not mix the two. If you search on here, you'll find many many instances of problems.

Yes, most of my photos are in One Drive and also on my lapop.

If I use an external drive, editing and renaming are not affected.

Tried putting images on my C: drive and then opening Adobe Bridge or
Photoshop to edit. I still get the same message -- permission needed.
The problem persists.
