2024 Bridge for Culling - Errors

New Here ,
Nov 27, 2023 Nov 27, 2023

Hi Adobe Community,

I have been using Bridge for the last 3-4 years to cull my images before opening in Lightroom/Ps. For some reason after my latest update, the culling process has been glitchy and once I mark my images as a '5 star' they don't mark and then I cannot filter them out. Please someone advise. Thank you!

Melinda

Hi, @Melinda33896464ewpk, Are you giving the 5-stars by pressing the "5" key? If so, there was a change in the new Bridge where the default is that you have to press 5 + the Control/Command key. In previous versions of Bridge, there was a simple single box you could check in the preferences to press either the 5 or Command-5 keys. Now, you must go into the Keyboard Shortcuts settings (Edit (menu) -> Keyboard Shortcuts and do it there.

While I really welcome the whole Keyboard Shortcuts options, I think Adobe blew it for this one setting: before, one check box did it all, now you have to do it five times for ratings and four more times for color labels.

Hi @Melinda33896464ewpk  ,

Thank you for reaching out to us. You can set the numbers as shortcuts for labels/ratings from keyboard shortcut options

1. Open Bridge
2. Go to Edit -> Keyboard Shortcuts to open the keyboard shortcuts dialog
3. Search for the desired command like Red Label, Yellow Label, 1 Star, etc
4. In the adjacent column, named "Shortcut" click in the empty area and add the desired shortcut like 5, 6, 7
5. Save the preset and click the OK button to apply the changes

You can follow this wiki for more information and usage https://helpx.adobe.com/in/bridge/using/keyboard-shortcuts-panel.html

Please reach out to us if you have any queries.

Thanks,
Bridge Team
