Access images stored on hard drive by wifi network

I’ve installed Bridge on a Mac (OS big sur). My images are stored on an external hard drive via a wifi network. The folder with the images is visible in the favourites section of Bridge. When I click on it I get the message ‘the item could not be mounted’. I’ve made sure that Bridge has full disc access and has access to files and folders. I’ve tried searching ‘how to mount a hard drive’ with no luck. Any assitance is appreciated.

Via wifi is meaningless, what is the file server? Can you mount the file server in the Finder?

The external is the file server. It wasn't mounted. Have sorted it out now. Thanks for your help.
