Adding keyword and labeling issue to Library Images

Hello,

I have been uploading my images to Adobe Creative Cloud library and I want to manage my image assets via Bridge. I can see my Library (uploaded) images in Bridge but when I am trying to add keywords or labels to these images, I could not because the menu items are inactive and checkboxes are not functioning. For the local files, they are working fine but for library files they are not. Anything I am missing out?

Thanks,

Guray

Hi, @fotokart-collection, I really hate to tell you this, but Libraries, in the Adobe Creative Cloud are not intended to be a generic holding place for your images. Rather, Creative Cloud Libraries let you gather design elements for specific projects, clients, or teams for use within any of your Creative Cloud apps. So, for example, if you and a friend are working on any one of these images are being used in a (say) Photoshop project, you can share that "element" of a project with others.

What is/was your goal or intent in placing your images in the Libraries Panel? Maybe I can offer an alternative that would work for you and do what you wish it to do.

Hello @gary_sc Thanks for your reply. Our intend is to create a digital image archive that we can group and tag the assets. Thus, as a team we would like to use these assets in our digital/physical products  (prints etc.) so everyone can reach from a one place. As a subscriber of Adobe Creative Cloud, I have noticed that we can reach the library via Photoshop, Illustrator and Bridge and there is a 20 GB cloud space so I thought we can use library for this purpose. If there is an alternative way to group and tag our products as a team, it would also work.

Regards,

Guray

Shoot, it sounds like you are trying to use Libraries as a Server. And it also sounds like you found a way that Adobe might be trying to dissuade you from doing that. As I stated, the intent of Adobe Libraries is to hold Design Elements such as logos, colors, and even fonts. However, these, as you've found out, cannot be rated or labeled.

I am only aware of one Adobe product called Media Server, but that is intended for Video.

But I do know that even if you did have a server on your computer, Bridge is not the answer. Bridge, by itself, was never designed to be used on a server. Rather, it was designed to be used on a standalone computer with external drives. There are people who do use Bridge on a server, but when it stops working, there's not much that Adobe can do to help. It may work for years; then, one day, it stops working. I see this often in these forums. Also, Bridge is not reliable when using a Cloud Service like DropBox.

I'm afraid I cannot help anymore. I've always been an independent user and have extremely limited server knowledge. Hopefully, someone with greater server knowledge can help you.

Good luck!
