I have the 2020 Mac with 40GB RAM, and it is impossible to work with Bridge. Start the app, beach ball, click on the photo, beach ball, switch to another favorite, beach ball, close a window, beach ball, open a picture, beach ball, change keywords, beach ball, add another keyword, beach ball, quit the app, beach ball...
What the eff is this BS?
That app has never been my favorite, it's deeply flawed and inconsistent, it consumes all the resources and cripples the whole system. And they feel "proud" to release another BS-Update, which brings more beach balls? I've hated Microsoft all my life since I got my first Mac back in 1984, never installed any of their products again. Adobe is priming on that world view: bad, unfinished products for users TO SUFFER.

Hi, @mikkael, without the screaming or the swearing, let's see if we can work this out.
In both my 2015 5K iMac or my new Mac Studio Pro, I cannot replicate ANY Bridge activities that you are reporting. So, either you have received a special version of Bridge, or there's something else going on. If you wish to continue, please calm down and treat others with respect.
How many images are in the folder in question? Bridge has never been known for speed, but the new version is better. However, if you have thousands of images in the same folder, that's too many. Try breaking it down into subfolders.
For thumbnails, please try the recommended settings here:
If all these do nothing, please rebuild the cache for that folder. Go to Tools (menu) -> Cache -> Purge cache for xxx folder.
If all these do nothing, please rebuild Bridge's Preferences:
Quit Bridge (if running). Just before clicking on Bridge in the Dock or double-clicking the application for the Mac, press Command-Option-Shift. For PCs, press Control-Alt-Shift. Then open Bridge BUT KEEP your fingers on those keys until you see a window pop up. From the window, choose “Reset Preferences," "Entire Thumbnail Cache,” and/or "Reset Standard Workspaces.” In your case, choose "Reset Preferences."
Please let us know if anything here helped your issues.
