"Adobe Bridge": How can i see all contents listed by folders and their subfolders?
Sorting my files via "Adobe Bridge" I would like to see
- all contents including subfolders of a directory
(using "Always show items from subfolders")
+
- the contents listed by folders
displayed in a manner like
"Folder A" + it's contents,
"Folder B" + it's contents, ...
A mac-app called "viewit" did exactly that
(but it does not fully work on the latest mac systems anymore).
I look forward to hearing from you:
Any ideas or hints are highly appreciated!

I think the only thing close to what you want is to select the highest level folder of interest then select "View>Show Items from Subfolders".
(You can create a custom shortcut to do this as I have with Shift+S.)
This displays all folders (unless you have unchecked "Show Folders" in the View Menu) and their contents but is not listed by folder as you asked.
However you may subsequently select a particular parent folder using the Filter Panel.

Thanks a lot for your immediate reply & hint , Mr. Bloodaxe 😉 – I might try and combine that with an mac/ "automator" script (& upload a download link if i succeed) in order to combine each folder's listing; also: I added a "wishlist" tag to my inquiry (there are many users trying to find a "viewIt" replacement who mentioned Adobe/Bridge as a "quite similar" option).

I am replying to this question since it drove me nuts too until I figured this out.
This WAS a feature in Bridge up until a recent update where they moved it (and made other questionable changes).
The "By Folder" view option you are looking for is now only available via the Sort By dropdown in the PathBar. (once "Show items from Subfolders" is checked.) See screenshot.
The option is no longer available from the "View > Sort" menu:
Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot ... Pls. accept my apologies for replying that late!
God to know about how to find this helpful feature – It is similar but not the same as the "Viewit" feature (which allows to view all hierachies of "folders/files within sub-sub-sub-...folders").
I'll keep my eyes open and update my inquiry as soon as i found a solution!
