I use batch rename all day on folders of images, and this new 2019 update has slowed down my workflow, due to sloppy or rushed design it seems.
I've gone back to Bridge 2018 for now, since there's also the issue of "cut and paste" not working in the new version. However this isn't a long term solution because eventually I'll have to move to newer versions to keep up with the rest of Creative Cloud.
I use a complicated preset to accommodate a client's naming conventions. In the 2018 and previous versions, all my fields were visible, the cursor was always at the top, and I could practically blaze through it without even looking.
In the 2019 window, I can't see the entire formula, the cursor defaults to the third field (not even visible on screen), I have to take my hands off the keyboard to use the mouse, and carefully watch what I'm doing. If this is a temporary glitch due to a rushed deadline, that's one thing, but if the interface is permanently broken, that could cost me hours per year in lost efficiency. And for what? to be dark? If the window were resizable that would be a fix, but it isn't.
Can I expect this situation to improve?

A bug has already been filed about this change, the developers have made some adjustments but unfortunately its a regression. Hopefully they revert to the older design.

Unfortunately, whatever adjustments were made didn't actually affect UX, so did it really even happen?
Six months later, this is still broken. Eventually, something will stop working with Bridge 2018 and that'll be that. Bridge just won't exist for me anymore.

I'm having the same issue and can't see the whole string either. Guess it's back to 2018 version for now.

I don't think so.
In CC2018, the interface window would keep on growing each time a new row was added via the + button, there was no scrollbar but there was a limit to 10 rows.
In CC2019, the interface window resizes up to the 5th row, however, thereafter the scroll bar becomes active and the limit is still 10 rows.

New update; still broken
