I had the same error. I downloaded Bridge directly from here, Download Creative Cloud apps. Installed using the .dmg. Checked Adobe Application Manager and it still showed an update for Bridge. I clicked install and it worked. Bridge is updated and I no longer see the update for Bridge in Adobe Application Manager.

... would be too simple ... my ACC is the latest one, I can not create a directory in my system library, it is not allowed ... I have tried to download directly the update from the Adobe site already ... the result is the same, failure code 146 ...

thanx, that helped ... still I do not understand why we can not manage the update process through the ACC app? it is very strange that you can not uninstall the app (bridge) after you tried to update it, only reload to your MAC from a different site ... but anyway it works so thanx again!

OK ... I need some walk-me-through help guys!
Yesterday I also received the #146 error upon trying to update the Bridge, it so happened I had another problem with permissions and the Apple Guy I had fixed problem number one and then took the time to help me fix the Bridge problem, we renamed the file and pkg and then restarted and we were able to get it to update and work properly ...TILL NOW!!! I thought it was strange that today it was saying there was another update and of course it reverted back to yesterday's 146 problem.
Can someone tell me exactly what I'm to do to resolve? I see a link mentioned above but I'm not feeling overly confident in how to do this, can anyone give me a step by step version?
Thanks in advance,
Charlene

This has not been fixed. The workaround, Uninstalling and reinstalling the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop Application, does not work. Any advice.

Worked for me, thanks for the tip! Downloaded from the link, installed, then went and clicked "retry" from the creative cloud panel. It re-installed the app, and now shows installed in the creative cloud desktop panel.

Same problem as o.p.
Except, I tried trashing original files and re-downloading. Same problem.

Chrisste ... I didn't get any help from the forums but I called ADOBE and they came in and through screen sharing were able to fix. It was not straight forward so I would highly recommend you call them as mine works 100% now!

Great phone support! They answered immediately. The work through took about 20 minutes, including an upload of Adobe log files. Hopefully they will address this. She said there have been a lot of calls.

Yep, great tech support. But it's a bug that should never have happened. I've got another Macs and I'm just waiting on up dating that.

I think that you should wait for the new update. Is it an urgent case? If not, plz try to restore and keep that version.
Maybe down grade?!
