Also, the filter isnt working  - Clearly there are 16 files with this filter, but only 13 are showing - the others are not hidden or anything and appear when I turn the filter off...Nice update Adobe, you never cease to impress.

Bridge 2021 and Photoshop 2021 are causing my iMac to freeze/crash. I cannot perform any but the simplest operations without causing this to happen. I have updated Mac OS, have uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe cc apps. They are worse than useless at the moment. No suggestions in either Mac or Adobe community seem to address issue. Adobe impossible to contact directly. HELP!!!

Hi jbm007, thank you for joining. No, I have not checked Bridge app permissions. What are they and where do I find them?

Jim, you start the day two hours earlier than me, I was just sitting down at my computer and then I saw the Bat Light up in the night sky!

Hi Irene,

I can think of three possible things to check, an errant file, your cache, your preferences. But let's do this from easiest to do to the more complex.

1) The Cache.

Go to Bridge Tools (menu) -> Cache -> Manage Cache... and this window will open

2020-11-03_08-45-28.png

Select the radio button as shown in the screenshot above. Click "Next" and after that it will ask you to verify that you want to do that. Yes you do, click OK and the window will close. Not completely necessary but I'd advise to quit and restart Bridge and see if this solves the problem.

#2) If not, than reset your Bridge's Preferences.

Quit Bridge. Then while holding the Shift-Option-Command keys down with one hand, start Bridge with the other. A window will pop up offering you several choices, select the one that offers to delete your Preferences which will force a new set of Preferences to be created. (Note: sometimes the timing of this can be annoyingly tricky so if you do not get the option to delete your Preferences, just repeat it until the option shows up.

If that doesn't solve the problem, then...

3) It might be a corrupted file.

Finding this is a very binary problem: take all of your images and divide them into two folders. Open one folder and work with the images. If nothing happens, try the other folder. If that shows the problem, divide it in half, rince and repeat. Continue this process until you find the errant file.

Let us know which solution (if any) show to be the solution or not. Good luck!

Hi Gary,

Thank you for joining. I tried 1) and everything froze, computer restarted after I made some batch adjustments in RAW and tried to save 5 photos as medium-sized jpegs. I'll append the error report.

I tried 2) and managed to adjust and save the batch of 5 photos, and even make a panorama of them in Photoshop. I quit Photoshop without incident, but Bridge had to be Force Quit, as it often does, and I wouldn't be surprised if I have to manually power down my Mac later as well. This happens often, and with other Adobe cc apps as well, especially InDesign.

3) I'll get back to you after I've had time to do it, later today with a little luck. Thanks!

Here's the error report--they all start the same, with a watchdog timeout error:

panic(cpu 1 caller 0xffffff7f9bd71a8d): watchdog timeout: no checkins from watchdogd in 94 seconds (141 total checkins since monitoring last enabled)
