Bridge CC 9.3 is slow [Branched from: CC 2019 - Very slow ]

Guide ,
Apr 10, 2019 Apr 10, 2019

After last update Bridge CC 9.3 is very slow. Impossible to work - those actions that used to take seconds, now last minutes. Back to previous version

I was going to once again send in all the details requested above and fired off Bridge (latest) last night, after upgrading to latest Camera Raw, opened a folder that has been opened many times, so preview generation should no longer be an issue.

Granted it has around 150 RAW files in it, but Bridge was unresponsive for something like 5 minutes, the window title bar flashing "Not Responding" on and off, the program lagging so far behind that while it registered my first click on a thumbnail it never managed to display metadata and preview and clicking on a different thumbnail did nothing; the first row of thumbnails was seemingly being re-drawn over and over again as the thumbnails were slightly changing size. I eventually force-quit and gave up.

Win 10-64 latest, 32 GB RAM, 1080Ti  and 9900K. The computer handles Photoshop, Lightroom, and Resolve without issues, it sure can handle a normally functioning Bridge.

Same deal as vincem120, I saw the update last night and it did the same exact thing. I'm on a imac with specs in above post. This machine is a beast and has had no problem with Bridge till these last updates. Again, for me, Bridge is my Oracle and I am highly struggling the inconvenience is extreme especially when I'm the University Photographer/Creative Director and I'm taking literally thousands of shots right now as students are moving in, fall football camp has started, volleyball, student leadership groups are here. So yeah, I'm dying......

Also:

1. Sample files on which you are encountering the problem @ swagarwa@adobe.com / ankursin@adobe.com

There isn't sample files to send because it's completely random but I'm viewing mainly .CR2 files from a Canon 5D Mark IV and 7D Mark II

2. Are you accessing the files on network or local

All local and tried external drives with same results

3. How many images / videos are there in folders you are browsing

Anywhere between 50-3500 and same results

4. If you are facing the slowness for some specific operation.

Only happens when Bridge is open. Even if it is in the background, I'll have freeze ups where whatever I'm doing it will have these mini stoppages/freeze for a split moment. I can close Bridge completely and things will work fine. It also does it wheither I have just only bridge, photoshop and indesign running or a slew of other programs running also.

5. Machine configuration and OS version

SESavageStorm, We have tried reproducing the issue, but we could not. We have tried with 50 - 1000 CR2 files both locally and on network drives. Could you please confirm if you have any video files too in your folder? If you are consistently seeing the issue please share the debug logs. We will send you the steps to enable debug logging. Also if possible please share a video of slowness.

Thanks for the response. No, I stay away from have videos in these folders because Bridge HATES videos. I am going to set up the logs and I'll try to capture some video as well.

This is why I don't update any of my apps for years, I'm still using CS6 and it's working fine, I never need any of their new updates, Adobe is too greedy and bring only more bugs.

Because I'm working for over 15 years with Adobe product and I can compare Adobe CC and Adobe CS6 or before, their apps became less responsive, more buggy, more slow and I'm getting tired to work like this. I'm a professional working on mac with CC, but at home, I stayed with CS6 and won't change. Adobe stopped all support for Fireworks, there is no app today on the market to work for digital. I'm really pissed about Adobe.

Again, what is your contribution to this thread? You comparing CS6 to CC is irrelevant to this discussion, please move on so we can try to work with the bridge team.

I have the same problem - for some time now. I can't go back to v8 unfortuantly - the updater doesn't give the option. It would be massively inconvenient for me to change software PS etc (not that Adobe would blink losing one customer whith their latest profit margin). I will try some other organiser however to see the performance difference.

Very very annoying.
