Bridge CS5.1 is not reading video metadata

Jul 05, 2017 Jul 05, 2017

It's not reading basic data that the Finder reads.  Dimensions, codecs etc.

Can anything be done to correct this?  THank you.

If it matters, I'm on a Mac.

Video support has always been second rate. CS5 is old. Even CS6 has “challenges” for .MOV files on my Mac, while CC17 at least offers basic support.

Thanks,

Does anyone know if there is a decent (pref free) browser that will show codec information, and have Finder integration so you can get the info on many files quickly?  As opposed to dragging each file into a program - I have several programs that work for that - but need something that will browse in the Finder.  I have a drive with thousands of clips on it and need to get codec info quickly so I can sort for conversion.

I am on Mountain Lion and am hesitant to upgrade due to other softwares that are running.
Thank you
