Bridge doesn't save changes to the metadata

I have a lot of audio files in wav format and I want to add a genre. In the Metadata panel you can add the genre and most of the time it doesn't save the changes. But it rarely works after several attempts. I've also read that some people say wav. doesn't support tagging metadata, but that's not true. The few files that have actually saved the genre are listed correctly in the Windows file explorer. I can also search for the genre and the files come up. The files are all the same format, so it doesn't seem to have anything to do with it. I also tried older versions. Same problem. Also cleared the cache. Really weird. Any idea why it doesn't work most of the time?

Thanks for the help.
