Bridge Has Become a Joke... More and more unreliable. See below

Todays issue was the final straw. I imported 437 photos (half raw, half jpeg) into bridge and attempted to batch rename all of them. After pressing ok, the loading dialouge box would appear, then nothing would change. No files have been renamed. After repeating that multiple times, I selected one photo and renamed it successfully.

After that success I selected all of the photos again and I attempted to batch rename them. This time after I pressed ok, it corrupted all of my raw files and renamed my jpgs to "Dec22(sequence #)". I formatted my cards after putting them on my drive and now all of my raw files are gone. This is bad... obviously. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I pay monthly for a service that doesnt work on the regular. This is just one of the many issues that I have expereience recently.

I attached a screenshot of how batch rename somehow changed all of my raw files to an unsable file.

Without seeing what your entrees were in the Batch Rename window's fields, it's very hard to know exactly what happened.

It's fair to say that the raw files should be larger than the jpg files. Please take one of the larger files, and return the raw name from the camera (e.g., CR2, whatever). Does that recover the file? (The previous name is irrelevant at this point, first you want to make sure your images are OK.) In your screenshot, every other file is identified as a jpg file. Do they open

Do they open like jpg files?

BTW, just curious: if you had 437 photos, half raw, half jpg, were you missing one raw or one jpg file?

Thank you for your response! Changing the extension from "luncheon_003" back to .arw recoved the file.

The jpegs all open as usual.

And no I was not missing a raw or jpg file.

Thanks once again!
