Bridge is not showing Color Profile for Illustrator and PDF files

In Bridge 14, I am looking at a folder containing Photoshop files, TIFF files, Illustrator files, jpgs and PDF.

The Photoshop, TIFF and JPGs all show the correct color profile in Bridge.

Illustrator and PDF files show the color profile as "untagged"

But I know they have the correct tags, based on being able to open them in Illustrator without warning messages about mismatched profiles.

And if I, say, open the PDF or Illustrator file in Photoshop, it extracts the correct color profile to do the vector to raster conversion.

I've tried reinstalling Bridge.

Can ANYONE see a color profile, in Bridge, for Illustrator or PDF files?

I've attached an example of what I'm seeing.

Thank you.

I tried rolling back to a previous version of Bridge (12.0.4.286) but I am seeing the same problem. Bridge 14 does not work to show the Color Profile of AI and PDF files either.

I am running Windows 10 (with the latest updates), on a Kabylake processor, 32Gb RAM, RTX 2080Ti graphics card. I have simple not noticed any processing problems.

Hard drives are NVMe SSD for system and apps, with a RAID 10 HDD array for main storage that I work off. Backups to a NAS.

As I said in the post:

  • Photoshop, TIFF and JPGs all show the correct color profile in Bridge

  • Illustrator and PDF files show the color profile as "untagged"

The Illustrator and PDF files have an over all Color Profile of Adobe RGB.

I appreciate that these files can CONTAIN embedded images that could have different color profiles.

However, my understanding is that Illustrator and Adobe Acrobat (PDF files) do a conversion on those embedded images to have the same color profile as the overall color profile of the file.

I will send an email to the address you specified, with a Googel Drive link where you can down load some examples, since they are very large.

Although Bridge has come a long way, it is still somewhat rooted in its origins as Photoshop's file browser.  :]

Illustrator files shouldn't be too much of an issue, they have an overall document ICC profile.

PDF files are more complex, as different elements can have different ICC profiles and all be correctly colour managed.

Photoshop PDF files do show a document profile if included when saving.

PDF-X standards do use an overall Output Intent which is similar to a document-level profile in some ways.

P.S. If any Adobe devs are reading this, PDF file display could also benefit from indicating the width and height in metric or inches, rather than the native points unit.
