For some time I have used bridge to delete photos. I find it an easy interface to view the photos and then select single or multiple photos and drag to recycle bin. This has always deleted the files from the computer without problem.
Over the past couple of days the deleted files have stayed in the folder in finder and show as hidden files in Bridge. When I go to the view menu and click hidden files I am unable to see the image but bridge shows a file name with .icloud at the end.
I‘m unsure if iCloud is trying to replace everything I delete but the folder is still full of jpeg files that appear to be the originals. The anomaly appears to be that in finder there are original jpegs but in Bridge there are the ones I want to keep and then there are a load of others with the .icloud extension.
Running mac with Mojave and latest Bridge update.

Do the photos actually reside locally on a hard drive? It sounds like the folder in question is synced to iCloud and using Bridge to delete them is not deleting them from the Cloud.

The files reside on the local hard drive and back up to iCloud. In the past Bridge has always deleted from the local drive and that change has synced with iCloud. Now Bridge does not seem to be deleting in such a way that the sync occurs and is even leaving some files on the hard drive.
