Once AGAIN with an update upon trying to use Bridge one finds what you previously expected to be in front of you toasted by the update.

How do I get my previous working environment/view back?!

This has been a previous problem people have griped about and here we are YEARS later without any solution from Adobe.

What Gary is referring to is .... are  you saving your workspace layout?

When a update occurs it defaults to the standard Workspace UI

You need to load your saved workspace and then each time you run Bridge after that it will open with your saved setup.

If you set up a workspace you like, you can save it from either the Window (menu) -> Workspace or from the dropdown menu at the end of the workspace list on the top of Bridge's window:

Okay folks, now I understand, I think.  MY default working view must be saved as a defined workspace to be preserved through the ever evolving updates. In my defense, I have found in the past they have not been preserved, so I have a bit of skepticism about what happens with this scheme.

Off topic -- PS on UNIX when/if?  Tired of MS-Windoze.

Off topic -- PS on UNIX when/if?  When pigs learn to fly ..................

In the past updates sometimes hosed ones workspace.

I usually add a second similiar workspace and name it JBM 2 and JBM  2a  in case one of them got hosed.

has not happened in ages.

I know I just jinxed myself.

Thanks to all who replied. Know what to do now to try to work around the matter. The jinx will come from the mothership, not you.

Still wish pigs would fly!
